Renowned Pakistani singer Asim Azhar has issued a clarification regarding the controversy that emerged after criticism of the cover version of his new song, “Tu Hai Wohi Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha,” and his acknowledgment of support from social media influencer Rajab Butt.

Asim Azhar’s song received mixed reactions on social media, with many users criticizing it and claiming that he had ruined the classic track.

Earlier, Rajab Butt shared a lip-sync video in support of Asim Azhar’s song. In response, Asim thanked him, but the singer subsequently faced further criticism for accepting Rajab Butt’s support. Social media users described the move as inappropriate.

Following the growing backlash, Asim Azhar released a statement on Instagram, saying that thanking someone and showing appreciation does not mean that he shares the same views and values as that person.

He added that he understands and agrees with the concerns raised by his fans and supporters, but his intention was simply to respond to kindness with kindness, and that the matter was not as serious as it had been made out to be.

In a lighthearted remark, he wrote that fans should continue enjoying his new songs and sweet mangoes.

Despite Asim Azhar’s clarification, the debate continues on social media. Some fans believe the singer should not have accepted support from Rajab Butt, while supporters of Rajab Butt are criticizing Asim Azhar for distancing himself from the influencer after the public backlash.
