Dialogue is essential for the supremacy of the Constitution, law, and democracy, says Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
Shehbaz Sharif has once again invited the opposition to engage in dialogue, saying that negotiations are essential for the supremacy of the Constitution, law, and democracy.
Speaking during a session of the National Assembly of Pakistan, the prime minister said that Pakistan’s strength depends on unity and that everyone must play their role in making the country stronger.
During the session, a member of the opposition remarked, “Prime Minister, take a step forward.” Smiling in response, the prime minister said, “I am ready to take a step forward; you should come over as well.”
In his address, the prime minister also discussed national issues relating to Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other matters. He said that in 2010, Balochistan’s share under the NFC Award was increased by 100 percent, while the allocation of shares for the people of Balochistan in the Reko Diq Project serves as a positive example. He added that Punjab also contributed toward increasing Balochistan’s share.
The prime minister further said that the government is working on development projects in Balochistan. He noted that Rs300 billion is being spent on the highway leading to Chaman and that solar panels have been provided to farmers in the province.
He also stated that everyone knows who is behind terrorism in Balochistan and added that terrorism continues day and night in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security personnel are making sacrifices in the line of duty.
