Recruitment for Grade 17 government jobs at teaching hospitals has begun, with appointments to be made against newly created positions for Hospital Monitoring Officer, Procurement Specialist, and Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant.
The appointments to these positions will initially be made on a three-year contractual basis. However, the contracts may be extended for another term depending on the candidates’ performance.
Hospital Monitoring Officer
For the position of Hospital Monitoring Officer, a degree in Hospital Management, Health Services Management, Business Administration, or Public Administration is mandatory.
Doctors holding a management degree will also be eligible to apply for the position. The primary purpose of this role is to improve the monitoring of administrative affairs, performance and various systems within hospitals.
Procurement Specialist
Candidates applying for the Procurement Specialist position must hold a master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce or Finance, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification.
The degree must be from an HEC-recognised institution, while applicants are also required to have at least five years of professional experience in the relevant field.
The position will focus on improving systems related to hospital procurement, supply chains, and financial and administrative affairs.
Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant
Candidates for the Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant position must hold a degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Public Health, Statistics, Health Management, or Information Technology.
Applicants must also have at least two years of professional experience in the relevant field.
Those appointed to the position will assist in monitoring and evaluating various hospital projects, administrative activities and performance-related data.
Three-Year Contract With Extension Possible
Candidates selected for the new positions will initially be appointed on three-year contracts. However, if their performance is satisfactory, their contracts may be extended for another term.
The new positions aim to strengthen administrative oversight, procurement systems, performance evaluation and monitoring at teaching hospitals, with the broader objective of improving hospital administration and service delivery.
