NEPRA has increased the price of electricity by Rs 2.36 per unit which is to be collected from consumers in November bills.
This hike has been implemented under the monthly ‘Fuel Cost Adjustment’ (FCA). The increase relates to the fuel cost adjustment for the month of September; NEPRA has issued a formal notification regarding this price hike.
According to NEPRA, the actual fuel cost for electricity in September was Rs 9.82 per unit, whereas the reference fuel cost was set at Rs 7.45 per unit. Due to the difference between the actual and reference fuel costs, consumers will face an additional burden of Rs 2.36 per unit.
As per the notification, this fuel price adjustment will apply to consumers of all power distribution companies across the country, including K-Electric. However, ‘lifeline’ consumers, electric vehicle charging stations, and users on a prepaid tariff are exempted from this increase.
The additional fuel price adjustment will also apply to consumers who are benefiting from the ‘Incremental Consumption Package.’
According to NEPRA, this additional charge will be collected from electricity consumers through their November 2026 bills. The fuel price adjustment, calculated based on the electricity units consumed in September 2026, will be shown separately on the bills.
