PTI social media activist Sanam Javed has reportedly filed a khula petition against her husband, Atiq Riaz, in a Lahore family court.
The court has issued a notice to Atiq Riaz, directing him to submit his response by November 25. The next hearing is also scheduled for the same date.
Sanam Javed is currently being held at Kot Lakhpat Jail in connection with cases related to the May 9 incidents. Her lawyer, Barrister Khadija Siddiqui, confirmed the development through a social media statement.
Meanwhile, her legal team has urged media outlets and social media users to respect her privacy and avoid speculation about the personal matter. The reasons behind the khula petition have not been publicly disclosed.
