In fact, some older phones are now more expensive than their original launch prices.
This year, Apple priced the iPhone 18 and 18 Pro Max $100 higher than last year’s models.

Before the September 9 event, the iPhone 16 was priced at $699, a price set after the launch of the iPhone 17 last year. Its price has now increased again to $799.
The iPhone 16 was originally launched in 2024 at the same price.

The iPhone 17e was launched in March at $599 and has now increased by $100 to $699.
The iPhone 17 was launched last September at $799 and will now be available for $899.
Similarly, the iPhone Air will now be sold for $1,099 instead of $999.
The reason for the price increase is the rise in the cost of chips and other components, which the company’s former CEO Tim Cook had indicated in a statement some time ago.
