Apple has appointed Salman Dar as its first Head of Government Affairs for Pakistan.
Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunications Shaza Fatima Khawaja welcomed the appointment in a LinkedIn post, saying that Apple’s move reflects growing engagement between the company and Pakistan.
The minister said she was pleased to welcome Apple’s first entry through the appointment of a Head of Government Affairs for Pakistan.
Khawaja said that the government’s engagement with Apple over the past two years, together with Pakistan’s evolving digital landscape, has now started to produce results.
She congratulated Salman Dar on his appointment and expressed hope that engagement would be further strengthened to create a “win-win situation” and expand Apple’s presence in Pakistan.

In a separate LinkedIn post, Salman Dar said that he had taken up his new role as Apple’s Head of Government Affairs for Pakistan.
Dar said that as Head of Government Affairs, he would lead government affairs in Pakistan and support the company’s engagement with regulators, policymakers and key stakeholders.
Shaza Fatima also thanked Apple’s Director of Government Affairs for the Middle East and Pakistan, Omar Al-Rifai, for his support throughout the process.
The appointment comes at a time when Pakistan is seeking to strengthen its digital economy and attract greater participation from global technology companies.
