The Pakistan Army has destroyed an Afghan Taliban base at Shipola along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in a response to attacks on unarmed Pakistani civilians and attempts to infiltrate across the border, according to security sources.

According to security sources, More than a dozen Afghan Taliban members were reportedly killed, while several enemy posts were also destroyed.

On October 29, Afghan Taliban forces attempted to infiltrate across the border in the Taida sector of Upper Kurram. In response, Pakistani security forces launched heavy artillery fire, targeting the Shipola base camp and several Afghan Taliban posts.

According to security sources, the Pakistani forces’ effective retaliatory action inflicted heavy casualties and material losses on the Afghan Taliban, with more than a dozen members reportedly killed.

Security sources said that previous attempts to violate the border and infiltrate through the Taida sector had also been met with a strong response. Pakistani forces are closely monitoring the border situation and remain prepared to defend the country’s territorial boundaries.

Reports indicated that an exchange of fire continued in the area following the operation. The Pakistani military action was carried out in response to what sources described as Afghan Taliban aggression and an attempted border incursion.

Pakistani security forces continue to carry out their responsibilities to protect the country’s borders and ensure civilian safety, while the situation in the Taida sector remains under constant surveillance.
