Major ICC Rankings Shake-Up Rocks Pakistan Cricket

Babar Azam, Salman Agha, Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub slip to ninth, 13th, 46th and 65th positions, respectively, in ODI batting rankings.

South African and Indian cricketers have dominated the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) player rankings.

South Africa’s Marco Jansen has made history by claiming the No. 1 spot in both the Test bowling and all-rounder rankings, while India’s Abhishek Sharma has become the top-ranked T20 International batter.

Jansen delivered an outstanding performance in the second Test against Australia.

He scored 85 runs with the bat and claimed five crucial wickets with the ball, playing a key role in South Africa’s victory.

Following this performance, Jansen climbed five places to the top of the Test bowling rankings, overtaking Australia’s Mitchell Starc.

He also ended India’s Ravindra Jadeja’s reign of more than four years at the top of the Test all-rounder rankings.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma completed a century off just 35 balls against New Zealand, scoring 113 runs off 38 deliveries to lead India to victory.

His performance helped him overtake Ishan Kishan and reclaim the top spot in the T20 International batting rankings.

South African captain Temba Bavuma also climbed four places to second in the Test batting rankings.

In the ODI bowling rankings, Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi moved up two places to sixth.

Abrar Ahmed slipped one place to third, while Haris Rauf dropped nine places to 29th.

In the ODI batting rankings, Pakistan’s Babar Azam, Salman Agha, Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub all suffered declines, falling to ninth, 13th, 46th and 65th positions, respectively.
