ICC Penalises Haris Rauf, England Over Code Violations

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has been fined 20% of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during a match against England.

England have also been fined 15% of their match fees for maintaining a slow over rate after bowling three overs short of the target within the stipulated time.

Rauf was penalised for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct.

During Sunday’s match against England in the tri-nation series, Rauf appealed for a wide in the 46th over while standing at the non-striker’s end and then argued with England batter Will Jacks.

According to the ICC, Rauf raised his bat and continued the argument despite a warning from the umpire. He then moved towards Jacks, brushing past the umpire.

In addition to the fine, Rauf was handed one demerit point, taking his total to five.

Haris and England captain Harry Brook admitted their respective offences and accepted the penalties imposed by Jeff Crowe of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, so there was no need for formal hearings.

On-field umpires Rashid Riaz and Sharfuddoula, third umpire Wayne Knights and fourth umpire Nassir Hussain suggested the fines.
