Web Desk: As many as 45 researchers from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) have been ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists in 2026, according to rankings compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier.

The recognition places NUST researchers among an international group of scholars whose work has made a significant contribution to scientific research and the advancement of knowledge across multiple disciplines.

According to NUST, the latest recognition reflects the university’s growing research profile and its contribution to scientific and academic development in Pakistan.

Notably, 16 NUST researchers have appeared in the ranking consistently over successive years.

The continued presence of these researchers highlights sustained scholarly impact and reflects their long-term contribution to research across different fields.

The ranking is widely regarded as a significant measure of researchers’ influence based on the impact of their published work.

NUST Rector Dr Muhammad Zahid Latif congratulated the researchers on the achievement, saying their recognition demonstrated the calibre of scholarship at the university.

He said the accomplishment had brought pride to NUST and Pakistan while highlighting the contribution of its faculty and researchers to the international research community.

Latif also said the recognition underscored NUST’s continued focus on intellectual leadership, scientific inquiry and developing solutions to complex real-world challenges.
