WhatsApp is adding a Reels shortcut to the attachment menu.
A report by WABetaInfo stated that a new feature has appeared in a new beta version of WhatsApp for Android devices.
According to the report, a Reels shortcut is being added to the list view of WhatsApp’s gallery picker.
Clicking this shortcut will open a screen where users will be able to send Reels videos.
This feature will work on WhatsApp only when users enable their WhatsApp account in Meta Accounts Centre.
If your account is not linked there, Instagram Reels will not be able to be sent through the media picker.
The report stated that three tabs will appear at the top of the media picker screen.
One tab will be called Recent, containing Reels that users have watched recently on Instagram.
The second tab, Saved, will contain Reels that users have saved, while the Liked tab will contain Reels they have liked.
Any Reel available there can be selected and shared in a WhatsApp chat.
