Winter vacations for private and public educational institutes have been approved by the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir across the region.

The notification has been issued by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department. The Secretary of the Elementary and Secondary Education has signed off on the winter break schedule for schools across the region.

In the cold areas of Azad Kashmir, schools will observe winter vacations from 25 December 2025 to 26 February 2026. The institutions will be closed for a total of 63 days.

The education authorities across the country are locking in their own winter vacation plans.

In Islamabad, federal colleges and schools under the Federal Directorate of Education will be closed from 26 December 2025 to 3 January 2026. The classes will resume on 5 January 2026. Private colleges and schools in the federal capital are regulated by PEIRA. They have been directed to follow the same dates for their winter break.

Provinces are also moving in a similar direction. The winter vacations in Punjab for schools and colleges will be from 22 December 2025 to 10 January 2026. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be adopting a zone-based schedule. With longer breaks in harsher winter zones and smaller breaks in summer zones.
