On Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced plans for ‘Patriot Games’. The games will be held next year.
The games will pit top high school athletes from across the country against one another. Patriot Games will be a part of the series of events to celebrate 250 years since the nation’s founding.
The launch of Freedom 250 has been announced by Trump. This organization will be leading the administration efforts to celebrate the country’s 250th birthday in 2026.
US President Donald Trump said the “first-ever Patriot Games, an unprecedented four-day athletic event featuring the greatest high school athletes — one young man and one young woman from each state and territory.”
The event will take place in next fall.
Trump further added in a video posted on social media “But I promise there will be no men playing in women’s sports,”.
This comment was a nod to his administration efforts to prohibit transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports.
Other events are also planned for the country’s 250th birthday. It includes a “Great American State Fair”. This fair will feature exhibits from all 50 states on the National Mall from June 25 to July 10.
An independence day celebration is also planned that will include a military flyover and fireworks. Another event will take place at White House on Jun e 14th called the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
