DI KHAN: In an explosion targeting a police van in Paniala, Dera Ismail Khan district, at least three police officers were martyred.

The explosions were carried out through an explosive device (IED), according to the officials. The explosion caused fear and panic in the nearby areas and caused severe damage to the police van.

The martyred in the explosion include ASI Gul Alam, driver Sakhi Jan and Constable Rafiq according to the police. They died on the spot. A large police force reached the scene, started the search operation and laid siege to the area to trace the culprits. The police force arrived immediately after the incident.

The police van was on routine patrol when the explosive material detonated according to the initial reports. The explosion caused severe damage to the vehicle.
Considering the nature of local geography and explosion, it is very likely that the attack was carried out by a pre-installed device.

Multiple checkpoints have been set up in the area, and the public has been asked to report suspicious activities immediately.
