During an ongoing intelligence-based operation (IBO) by security forces in the Palangzai area of North Waziristan, 45 militants, including a key commander of Fitna al-Khawarij, Khalid Raza alias “Salah,” were killed, according to sources.
Sources said the government had announced a reward of Rs4 million for information leading to the arrest or killing of Khalid Raza. A large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the militants during the operation.
According to security sources, the seized weapons included a 12.7mm rifle, 14 SMG rifles, and a rocket launcher.
Earlier, 27 militants were killed in a security forces operation against Fitna al-Khawarij on June 7.
Security forces are continuing clearance operations in the area to eliminate any remaining militants. Security sources stated that the forces remain committed to eradicating Indian proxies, Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, from the country.
