A member of National Assembly (MNA), Syeda Amnah Batool, has been appointed to FIFA’s prestigious Institutional Reforms Committee. This marks a historical milestone for Pakistan in sports governance.
It has been confirmed by an official statement on Thursday that Syeda Amnah Batool is currently the only Pakistani serving on a FIFA committee.
Amnah Batool’s appointment reflects FIFA’s renewed confidence in Pakistan’s institutional direction. This also reaffirms Pakistan’s important role in global football governance.
This appointment is a result of the government’s continued efforts to strengthen sports institutions and promote football across the country. It was also reaffirmed by government that football will be developed as a merit-based sport.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in this context recently met with the Vice President and President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). In the meeting he emphasized Pakistan ‘s commitment to strengthening football federation. He also wants Pakistan to host international events.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s commitment to promoting football in Pakistan was praised by the FIFA president. Pakistan will also cooperate with FIFA in the future. This cooperation will be practical, organized and partnership-focused approach.
Syeda Amnah Batool’s role on the committee will be focusing on improving governance systems within global football and institutional reforms.
