Lahore: A new monsoon weather system has entered Pakistan, bringing the likelihood of light to heavy rainfall across most districts of Punjab, including Lahore, today.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, sunshine and clouds will alternate throughout the day in Lahore, with light rain expected after noon. The city’s minimum utemperature is expected to remain around 31°C, while the maximum could reach 39°C.
In view of the expected rainfall, the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert to all district administrations, directing them to complete precautionary measures in low-lying and vulnerable areas.
Meanwhile, WASA Lahore Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed has instructed all operational staff to remain on high alert due to the forecast of rain. He said officers and field teams must continue performing their duties until rainwater is completely drained from roads and low-lying areas.
Authorities have also advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during rainfall and to stay updated on the latest weather conditions.
