Pakistan Raises Diesel Price, Cuts Petrol Price

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s federal government announced a revision in the prices of petroleum products effective September 18, raising the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) while granting a minor reduction in the price of petrol.

According to the Ministry of Energy, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) calculated the revised ex-depot prices in alignment with the government’s standard petroleum pricing mechanism.

Consequently, the price of High-Speed Diesel has been increased by PKR 3.47 per liter, rising from PKR 421.45 to PKR 424.92. Conversely, the price of motor spirit (petrol) has been shaved by 43 paisas per liter, adjusting from PKR 391.22 down to PKR 390.79 per liter.

Meanwhile, officials noted that these price adjustments reflect recent shifts in global market dynamics, Platts rates, import premiums, and other related supply chain costs.
