Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that we are all equal citizens of Pakistan and we have equally contributed for its development.
He admired the role of the Christian community in Pakistan and lauded the sacrifices of Christian officers and soldiers in the armed forces. The prime minister said that mosques, temples, churches, and gurdwaras all enjoy freedom of worship in the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was addressing a Christmas ceremony at PM house; He said the world today needs the message of Prophet Jesus Christ more than ever. He stated that Hazrat Isa (AS) brought a universal message of tolerance, love and service to humanity, and liberation from oppression.
PM Shehbaz also said that the Holy Quran accords a very high status to Hazrat Isa (AS). He also acknowledged the services of notable Christian figures such as Justice A.R. Cornelius, Air Commodore Cecil Chaudhry, and Dr. Ruth Pfau.
The prime minister paid rich tribute to the Christian community for its valuable contributions to Pakistan in the field of education, healthcare, defense and other fields. He said that religious freedom is a constitutional right in Pakistan and that the government is fully committed to upholding it.
