Murad Ali Shah calls coal to urea project a game changer for Thar

Web desk: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the project to produce urea from coal will prove to be a game changer for Thar and for Pakistan.

An important meeting took place between Fauji Fertilizer Company and the Sindh government regarding the coal to urea project. FFC Chief Executive Officer Jahangir Piracha and other senior officials attended the meeting.

While addressing the session Murad Ali Shah said that producing urea from coal will reduce the price of fertilizer. This step will provide major relief to the agricultural sector. He said that the project holds great importance for the economy of Sindh.

He added that the project will create more than 3500 direct jobs and over 7000 indirect employment opportunities. It will reduce the need to import urea. The country could also earn up to 260 million dollars through exports. The Sindh government may receive around 5.5 million dollars annually in royalty.
