Maryam Nawaz announces expansion of safe basant to other cities

Web desk: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif praised the people of Lahore for celebrating Basant responsibly and following safety rules. She said the city remained joyful and peaceful and appreciated citizens for maintaining discipline during the festival.

She stated that people fully adopted the concept of Safe Basant. Families enjoyed traditional food and kite flying while strictly following the approved kite sizes and permitted strings. Authorities reported no major use of banned metallic strings, which helped prevent accidents and power disruptions.

Maryam Nawaz said effective safety measures on rooftops ensured a secure celebration across the city. She added that 200 Clinic on Wheels units and 21 field hospitals were deployed to provide emergency services during the festival.

The chief minister announced that the Safe Basant model will now be introduced in other cities of Punjab. She urged the public to continue following safety precautions as the festival concludes, emphasizing that public cooperation made the successful celebration possible.
