Junaid Safdar’s marriage dates confirmed

Islamabad: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s son, Junaid Safdar, is set to marry the granddaughter of PMLN leader Sheikh Rohail Asghar, he has confirmed that his granddaughter will marry Nawaz Sharif’s grandson, formalising the families’ long-standing personal and political connection. The wedding is planned for January 16, 17 and 18.

Families’ friendship leads to engagement

Asghar said the match stems from years of friendship between the two families. He noted that his granddaughter, Shanzay, has maintained a long friendship with Maryam Nawaz’s daughter, Mahnoor. The proposal was discussed over the phone between Shanzay’s father and Nawaz Sharif, and both families finalised the plans within two to three months.

Wedding ceremonies to be mostly private

The PML-N leader added that the celebrations will involve close family members, with the majority of events, except the Barat ceremony, taking place at the Sharif family residence in Jati Umra.

Asghar praised the warmth of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, saying it played a key role in accepting the proposal. He described the union as a blessing, expressing hope that it will further strengthen the bond between the two prominent Punjab political families.
