Web desk: Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari and Special Assistant Salma Butt announced new prices for food items in Ramzan bazaars. They said the government has taken several steps to provide relief to the public during Ramzan.
While addressing a press conference Salma Butt shared detailed information about the price cuts. The government has reduced the price of flour. The official price of a 10 kilogram flour bag is 905 rupees. However people can buy the same bag for 850 rupees at Ramzan bazaars. Sugar is priced at 160 rupees per kilogram in the market. In Ramzan bazaars it will be available for 140 rupees per kilogram. The government has reduced the price of A category ghee by 16 rupees per kilogram. It has reduced B and C category ghee by 10 rupees per kilogram.
Chicken meat will be available at a reduced price with a cut of 15 rupees per kilogram. The price of eggs has also dropped by 10 rupees per dozen. Vegetables fruits and pulses will be sold at 7 to 10 percent lower rates throughout the month. As a result people will face less financial pressure during Ramzan.
The government will also provide home delivery within a five kilometer radius of Ramzan bazaars. Authorities have set up control rooms to monitor prices daily. Officials will supervise the markets to ensure stability and fair pricing.
The government has also created a special office to handle complaints about prices. Citizens can report issues and seek quick relief. Across the province authorities have set up 10 thousand shops and 550 additional sale points for 10 kilogram flour bags. These points will ensure easy access for the public.
Under the notified rate the government will supply 1.5 million flour bags daily across the province. This step will help ensure that every citizen can easily buy flour and other essential items. The government has established a coordinated network of Ramzan bazaars across Punjab. This network will maintain price stability and provide relief to the public during the holy month.
