The government has announced a reduction in petrol prices as part of the latest fortnightly review of petroleum product rates.
According to the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been cut by Rs 4 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs 377.78 per litre.
Officials confirmed that the price of diesel remains unchanged at Rs 380.78 per litre, with no adjustment made in the latest revision.
The revised fuel prices will take effect from midnight and will remain applicable for the next pricing cycle.
The change is expected to provide partial relief to consumers, particularly in transportation and goods movement costs, while diesel users will see no immediate benefit.
