New fees have been announced for five-year e-passports and 10-year machine-readable passports (MRPs) for Pakistanis living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to a private TV channel, the new fee schedule for e-passports and MRPs has been issued by the Pakistani Embassy. It should be noted that the fees will be charged in UAE dirhams.

Five-Year E-Passport:

36 pages (Normal fee: AED 145, urgent fee: AED 235)

72 pages (Normal fee: AED 260, urgent fee: AED 425)

10-Year Machine-Readable Passport (MRP):

36 pages (Normal fee: AED 215, urgent fee: AED 355)

72 pages (Normal fee: AED 390, urgent fee: AED 635)

Applicants will have to pay double the fee if their passport is lost for the first time and four times the fee if it is lost for the second time.

The issuance of e-passports has begun today at Pakistani diplomatic missions in Pakistan and around the world. Under this initiative, e-passports will now be issued for new passport applications.

The e-passport features advanced security features and will help further improve the security of travel documents and the identification process in line with international standards.

Machine-readable passports (MRPs) issued previously will remain valid until their designated expiry dates. However, from today onwards, e-passports will be issued for new passports and renewals.
