“There exists no such thing as governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Corruption, nepotism and maladministration are the common practices of KP govt for the last 12 years, while lavish expenditures continue and public money is allegedly being spent for political purposes,” said Atta Tarar.

He questioned whether expanding the size of the provincial cabinet could improve governance, arguing that merit has not been the basis for selecting ministers and advisers, rather nepotism was the best criterion for this selection.

Atta Tarar added that, in his view, the province’s affairs have never been in such a poor condition before, despite more than a decade of political reign of PTI in KP.

It is worth mentioning that the provincial government has inducted 6 new ministers, 4 advisers, and 8 special assistants into the provincial cabinet. Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has also administered the oath to the new cabinet members.

The present move has sparked concerns within PTI circles over political representation and internal consultation, with several party leaders expressing concerns over the selection process and alleging that certain regions and senior figures were overlooked in the latest appointments.

According to private TV channel, former KP governor and PTI leader Shah Farman said he congratulates the new cabinet members.

He said that as a member of the party’s internal accountability committee, no one consulted him regarding the cabinet, nor did he suggest including anyone in it.

On the other hand, former PTI provincial minister Nek Muhammad said that new people were not included in the cabinet on merit. He added that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is not even willing to answer their calls, and they do not call to ask for ministries.

Nek Muhammad further said that brothers of MNAs were included in the cabinet, while no one from South or North Waziristan was included. He also said Bannu has no representation in the cabinet.
