Web Desk: Two US Navy fighter jets collided midair during an air show in the US state of Idaho before crashing to the ground, prompting an emergency response and a temporary lockdown at a nearby military base, US media reported.
The incident occurred during an aerial demonstration near Mountain Home Air Force Base when the two aircraft struck each other while performing maneuvers in flight.
According to local media reports, the aircraft involved were EA-18G Growler electronic warfare jets operated by the US Navy. The crash took place roughly two miles from Mountain Home Air Force Base.
All four crew members aboard the two aircraft managed to eject before the jets crashed, reports said. Emergency teams rushed to the scene shortly after the collision and launched rescue operations.
Authorities did not immediately report any fatalities or serious injuries among the crew.
Meanwhile, officials temporarily locked down Mountain Home Air Force Base as a precaution following the crash.
Investigators have begun examining the cause of the collision, although authorities have not yet released details on what may have led to the accident.
