Web Desk: Reports of intensified military preparations by Israel and the United States have fueled concerns of a renewed confrontation with Iran, as Tehran warned Washington to end its naval pressure campaign or risk wider conflict in the region.
Israeli broadcaster Channel 13 reported that dozens of US cargo aircraft carrying ammunition arrived in Tel Aviv within the past 24 hours from American military facilities in Germany. The report said the shipments were linked to preparations for a possible escalation involving Iran.
At the same time, Israeli media outlets reported that military planners were reviewing potential targets inside Iran in anticipation of renewed hostilities. Public broadcaster Kan said energy facilities could be among the sites considered in any future operation.
Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that Israeli forces had operated another covert military facility in Iraq’s western desert, highlighting the expanding regional dimensions of the standoff.
The developments come as tensions between Iran, Israel and the United States continue to intensify following weeks of military and diplomatic confrontation.
The latest reports also emerge against the backdrop of continued US pressure on Iran through naval restrictions that Tehran has strongly condemned.
In Tehran, senior Iranian official Mohsen Rezaei warned the United States against maintaining what Iran describes as a blockade on its ports.
Speaking on state television, Rezaei, a member of Iran’s Expediency Council and former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said Iranian forces were prepared for further escalation if Washington continued its current strategy.
He accused the United States of engaging in an “act of war” and warned that prolonged disruption to Iranian shipping routes could have wider global consequences.
Rezaei also delivered a direct warning to US forces operating in regional waters, saying the Sea of Oman could become a dangerous zone if tensions escalated further.
Despite the sharp rhetoric, he indicated that diplomatic efforts were still ongoing, although he insisted Washington would need to demonstrate credibility before meaningful negotiations could move forward.
“Our armed forces remain fully prepared, while diplomacy is still continuing,” he said during the televised remarks.
The US naval restrictions on Iran began on April 13, according to Iranian officials. President Donald Trump has said the measures will remain in place until Tehran accepts a peace arrangement under conditions set by Washington.
Iranian leaders, however, have repeatedly rejected negotiations under pressure and insist the country will not yield to US demands.
