Investigators have made a major breakthrough in the Tarlai Kalan suicide bombing case and have arrested the mastermind, according to security sources.
Intelligence and law enforcement agencies conducted raids and arrests in Peshawar and Nowshera as part of the ongoing investigation. The operations were carried out using technical and human intelligence, officials said.
Security sources confirmed that four facilitators of the suicide bomber have been arrested. The alleged Afghan Daesh mastermind behind the attack has also been taken into custody.
According to officials, the planning, training, and indoctrination for the suicide attack were carried out by Daesh in Afghanistan. Security sources warned that Daesh and other militant groups, operating under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban, pose a serious threat to regional and global peace.
During the operation, one security personnel was martyred and three others were injured. Authorities said more intelligence-based operations against terrorists are underway.
