Islamabad: The capital administration has imposed Section 144 in the federal capital, prohibiting all public gatherings, protests and processions, officials said on Monday. This imposition comes amid the call of protest by PTI, they plan to protest outside of Islamabad High court and then move forward to Adiala Jail.

Restrictions on Public Gatherings

Under Section 144, no form of protest, rally, or congregation is allowed. Authorities warned that any attempt to hold unauthorized activities will trigger immediate legal action. District authorities said they will take action against violations and will strictly enforce the law to ensure that the city complies.

Appeal to Citizens

The administration urged residents to refrain from participating in any unlawful activity and to cooperate with law enforcement to maintain public order. Officials emphasized that the restrictions are in place to ensure safety and prevent potential disturbances.

PTI’s Protest Plan

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced the protest after authorities did not allow him to meet the founding chairman of PTI, Imran Khan. The protesters will start the caravan from KPK, then travel to Swabi, proceed to Islamabad High Court, and later move towards Adiala Jail. Observers warn that law enforcement will treat the protesters strictly if they carry out any violent activities.
