Rawalpindi extends section 144, prohibiting public gatherings and rallies

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi have extended the enforcement of Section 144, prohibiting public gatherings, rallies and processions across the city until December 24, according to Rawalpindi administration.

Restrictions on Gatherings and Loudspeakers

Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema issued an official notification stating that no more than four people are allowed to assemble in public. The order also bans the use of loudspeakers during the period to prevent large congregations.

Authorities Cite Security Concerns

Officials said the restrictions aim to maintain public order and prevent unrest in the city. Law enforcement agencies have been directed to strictly enforce the order and monitor compliance in all neighbourhoods.
