Punjab police issued at least 63,970 challans worth over Rs80 million in the past 24 hours as part of an ongoing crackdown on traffic violators, a police spokesperson said on Monday.
The spokesperson said the challans were issued to both vehicles and motorcycles across the province.
The spokesperson said police issued around 28,000 challans in a single day for helmet violations and another 4,312 for other traffic offences.
Police also confiscated 23,904 vehicles during the crackdown.
Meanwhile, Lahore’s district courts saw a heavy rush as hundreds of people — including many underage individuals — were brought in for traffic violations.
Lahore police presented more than 750 people in court over the past two days, and the duty magistrate granted bail to 415 of them.
