Profit rates revised for National Savings schemes

The Ministry of Finance has increased the profit rates on various National Savings Schemes and issued a notification in this regard.

According to the notification, the profit rate on Defence Savings Certificates has been increased by 19 basis points, taking the new rate to 11.80%. The profit rate on Behbood Savings Certificates and Pensioners’ Benefit Accounts has been increased by 12 basis points to 12.72%.

The profit rate on Regular Income Certificates has been raised by 60 basis points, with the new rate set at 11.76%. The rate on Special Savings Certificates has been increased by up to 74 basis points, bringing the return for investors to 11.82%.

The notification further states that the profit rate on the three-year Sarwa Islamic Term Account has been increased by 41 basis points to 11.57%. The rate on the five-year Sarwa Islamic Term Account has been raised by 54 basis points, with the new rate fixed at 11.70%.
