England announces squad for ODI series in Pakistan

England has announced their 16-member squad for the ODI tri-series to be held in Pakistan. Jofra Archer has been rested under workload management following a busy season, while senior batter Jos Buttler is not part of the squad due to injury.

According to a private TV channel, Mason Crane, Henry Crocombe and James Coles have been included in the squad for the first time. Leg-spinner Adil Rashid has returned after recovering from a hand injury, while Sam Curran has also been included following his recovery from injury.

Mason Crane has returned to the England team after eight years. He last represented England in the fifth Ashes Test against Australia in Sydney in 2018, while he has also played two T20 internationals.

According to England selector Marcus North, the tri-series in Pakistan will provide an important opportunity to test the ODI squad against strong opponents in different conditions.

Harry Brook will captain England in the tri-series. The matches will be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore, while the final will be held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on October 31.

England’s squad includes Harry Brook (captain), Joe Root, Ben Duckett, Tom Banton, Jordan Cox, Mason Crane, Henry Crocombe, Sam Curran, James Coles, Liam Dawson, Will Jacks, Gus Atkinson, Sonny Baker, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid and Josh Tongue.
