Prime Minister announces financial assistance for martyrs of Tarlai incident

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced Rs 10 million in financial assistance for the family of Aoun Abbas, who was martyred while trying to stop a suicide attacker during the Islamabad incident. He also announced Rs 5 million each for the families of other individuals who lost their lives in the incident.


The Prime Minister visited the home of Aoun Abbas and offered Fateha for the departed souls of those martyred in the tragedy.


On the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the incident deserved the strongest condemnation and that the entire nation stood united against it.


He stated that the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go in vain and that the incident was an attempt to create division, which had failed.


The Prime Minister added that Pakistan’s armed forces made sacrifices for the nation every day. Quoting the Quran, he said that martyrs should not be called dead, as they were alive.


He praised the brave young man who tried to stop the attacker and said that the whole nation was mourning the Islamabad tragedy.
