Web Desk: Motorway authorities have urged commuters across Pakistan to replace their old M-Tags before May 31, warning that existing tags will expire at the end of the month.

Officials announced that motorists can currently replace their vehicle M-Tags free of cost. However, authorities will start charging Rs150 for new M-Tags from June 1. The fee will increase further to Rs300 from July 1.

The latest advisory aims to encourage travelers to complete the replacement process early and avoid delays at motorway toll plazas during the upcoming travel season.

Authorities advised frequent motorway users to visit designated M-Tag centers as soon as possible to update their tags before the deadline expires. Officials also warned that expired tags could create inconvenience for commuters and slow traffic flow at toll booths.

The M-Tag system allows drivers to pay toll taxes electronically and helps reduce congestion on major highways and motorways across the country. In recent years, motorway authorities have expanded digital toll collection to improve travel efficiency and minimize waiting times.

Meanwhile, social media users widely shared the announcement after authorities released the updated fee schedule online. Many commuters urged others to replace their tags immediately to avoid additional charges in June and July.
