The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has reported that it recovered Rs2.452 trillion during the second quarter of 2026 with total recoveries reaching to record Rs5.414 trillion for the first six months of the year.
In a statement, the National Accountability Bureau termed the figure as its highest-ever six-month recovery, reporting recoveries of state land, forest reserves and assets in fraud cases across the country.
According to NAB official statistics, its Sukkur bureau made the highest overall recovery, while NAB Balochistan reclaimed 209,544 acres of forest land, including areas covering Hingol National Park along the coastal highway and land which was in ownership of Gwadar Industrial Estate Development Authority (GIEDA), valued at Rs604.64 billion.
Besides this, NAB Karachi reclaimed 11,422 acres of illegally allotted state land and disputed leases granted to housing societies and individuals, worth Rs467.11 billion.
Furthermore, the bureau said NAB Lahore recovered 1,909 acres of land owned by Pakistan Cotton Board Limited (PCBL) and other state properties, worth Rs288.29 billion, while NAB Islamabad/Rawalpindi reclaimed 810 acres of CDA property in various housing societies worth Rs66.63 billion.
The watchdog also said it returned more than 24,365 victims of housing and financial fraud an amount of Rs42.303 billion in recovered money and assets.
