The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 will be held nationwide tomorrow, Sunday, September 20, with nearly 11,000 candidates appearing in Karachi alone for admission to medical and dental colleges.
In Karachi, the examination will be conducted at NED University and Dow University’s Ojha Campus. Candidates have been instructed to report by 6:30 a.m., while the test will begin at 10 a.m. and continue for three hours.
The examination in Sindh is being organised under the supervision of Sukkur IBA’s Testing Services. According to officials, nine examination centres have been established in eight cities across the province, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Larkana, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas and Shaheed Benazirabad. A separate centre has also been arranged in Islamabad for candidates from Sindh.
More than 34,000 candidates have registered for MDCAT 2026 in Sindh. In Karachi, around 6,000 candidates will appear at NED University, while 4,964 candidates are expected at Dow University’s Ojha Campus.
In a major relief for students, the mandatory requirement to produce a juvenile card has been withdrawn. Candidates who do not possess a juvenile card will still be permitted to sit the examination, provided they bring their original, photograph-bearing Matric or Intermediate marks sheet for identification.
The testing authorities have also prohibited candidates from bringing mobile phones or any other digital devices into examination centres. Students must remain seated until the test concludes and will not be allowed to leave the centre before the allotted time ends. Question papers must be handed back to the supervisory staff before departure, and failure to return the paper may result in cancellation of the candidate’s result.
According to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, 138,158 candidates have registered for MDCAT 2026 across five universities nationwide. Authorities have stated that arrangements have been completed at all examination centres, with special measures introduced to ensure the test is conducted in a transparent and organised manner.
