Islamabad Police bust dance party, arrest 49 including women

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police arrested 49 individuals, including 15 women, during a raid on an illegal dance party taking place in an apartment within a plaza in the capital.

The operation was carried out by a team from Shalimar Police Station in the F-11 sector, led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Syed Kazim Naqvi of the Saddar area.

Sources said that SP Naqvi arrived alone at the spot and then called the police team to prevent any information leak by police personnel before the raid, which could have allowed the party participants to escape.

Officers surrounded three apartments and took into custody 34 men and 15 women, who were then transported to Shalimar Police Station for further legal proceedings.

During the raid, police also seized several mobile phones, questionable items, and other materials found on site.

Reports said the news of the police action spread quickly, causing a stir among influential circles in the capital as a number of prominent figures and individuals from high-profile families have been actively making calls and using their influence to secure the release of those detained.

The crackdown has sparked a wave of interest, with several notable personalities reportedly working to free the arrested individuals. The police operation has also highlighted concerns about the city’s nightlife, with authorities pledging to investigate the source and organization of such events.
