Ishaq Dar to represent Pakistan in Arab-Islamic meeting on Gaza ceasefire

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will leave for Istanbul tomorrow for one-day visit to join the Coordination Meeting of Arab-Islamic Foreign Ministers, the private media reported on Sunday.

The foreign office confirmed that the meeting will be chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. In the meeting, political leaders will talk about the enforcement of the Gaza Peace Agreement and joint efforts to sustain the ceasefire.

According to the statement issued by the Foreign Office, Pakistan, which has been involved with the Arab-Islamic initiative, resulted in the signing of the Gaza Peace Agreement in Sharm El-Sheikh, will highlight the importance of the truce and Israel’s complete exit from the Occupied Palestinian area, particularly Gaza.

“Pakistan will also call for the provision of unfettered humanitarian assistance to Palestinians and the reconstruction of Gaza,” the FO said.

“Pakistan has been, and will continue to be, committed to efforts to restore peace, justice, and dignity to the Palestinian people, as well as to ensure the realisation of their right to self-determination,” the statement concluded.
