Three police officials, including SHO Imranuddin, sustained injuries when an IED struck a convoy of senior police officers in the Doaba area of Hangu, police officials confirmed on Sunday.

“The attack targeted SP Investigation Abdul Samad, DSP Tal Mujahid, and SHO Imranuddin,” said a police spokesperson. According to the details, the injured police officials have been shifted to DHQ Hospital Hangu. All the injured policemen are now stable and recovering well.

SHO Imranuddin, Sub-Inspector Jehad Ali, and District Special Branch officer Abid got injured in the blast. After the blast, an exchange of fire broke out between the police and the militants in the area.

The incident occurred after few days after a previous blast in Hangu took the life of SP Operations Asad Zubair and three other police officials. Security forces have initiated a search operation to find the culprits.

Pakistan continues to face terror attacks, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, after the Taliban came to power in 2021.

The Pakistani government repeatedly called on the Taliban government to control terrorist groups responsible for multiple attacks in Pakistan.

However, the Taliban regime didn’t show interest and remained indifferent to Pakistan’s demand to end terrorism in the region.
