President Zardari to join Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha

President Asif Ali Zardari is set to participate in the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Qatar. The United Nations General Assembly will host the event from November 4 to November 6.

According to the notification issued by the president’s secretariat, several world leaders and policy makers will gathered to discuss the ways to improve social development, encouraging fair employment and job opportunities, and strengthening inclusive welfare systems.

During the visit, the president will meet with other global and regional leaders. President Zardari will also meet the leadership of Qatar and the head of the United Nations.

President Asif Ali Zardari will highlight Pakistan’s commitment to equitable growth and social protection. He will stress that Benazir Income Support (BISP) plays a key role in reducing poverty and supporting vulnerable communities.

Pakistan will showcase its plan to initiate a Doha-aligned Social Protection and Jobs Compact (2026-28) to support informal workers, persons with disabilities, and children, while encouraging decent work and green employment.  

This initiative brings Pakistan’s national plan in line with the Doha Political Declaration and worldwide goals on social protection and development funding.

He will also reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to translating the outcomes of the Doha Summit into concrete actions that strengthen social protection systems and support sustainable, inclusive economic growth.

He will also reiterate Pakistan’s dedication to turning results of the Doha Summit into practical measures to improve social protection and economic growth.
