Court issues non-bailable arrest warrants for Sohail Afridi

Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, ordering that he be arrested and produced before the court.


Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah heard the case against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi regarding misleading allegations against state institutions and damaging their credibility.


May 9 case

Police stated that there is a dispute over the evidence against Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, adding that questioning will be carried out if the court directs.


During the hearing, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Sohail Afridi due to his absence and ordered law enforcement authorities to arrest him and present him before the court.


The court adjourned further hearing of the case until February 21. A case against Sohail Afridi had been registered by the NCCIA under the PECA Act.
