The highly anticipated Asia Cup 2025 is all set to kick off today with trophy unveiling ceremony held in the presence of all captains.

Captains from Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE, Hong Kong, and Oman joined the ceremony, posing for photographs with the trophy and sharing their excitement ahead of the tournament. Naqvi greeted and shook hands with each captain before the formal unveiling.

For the unversed, this year’s Asia Cup, the 15th edition of the men’s event, will be staged in the T20 format with eight participating nations: Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Oman, UAE, and Hong Kong.

Pakistan and India headline Group A alongside hosts UAE and Oman, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.

The Asia Cup 2025 will kick off on Tuesday in T20 format, serving as a crucial warm-up for the T20 World Cup 2026.

Pakistan’s iconic pace duo, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, headline the world feed alongside Bazid Khan. While, they are joined by global voices, including VVS Laxman, Sanjay Manjrekar, Robin Uthappa, Russel Arnold, and Simon Doull.

Tournament format, groups, and schedule

The tournament features eight teams divided into two groups.

Additionally, the action begins with Afghanistan facing Hong Kong. Pakistan’s campaign starts against Oman on September 12, followed by a high-stakes clash with India on September 14 and hosts UAE on September 17.

The top two teams from each group advance to the Super Four, with a potential Pakistan-India rematch on September 21 if both qualify.

Moreover, the final, pitting the top two Super Four teams, is scheduled for September 28, crowning the continental champion.
