Cricketers Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq, who were released from the Pakistan team after the Lord’s Test, appeared before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore.
According to highly informed sources, former Pakistan cricket team captain and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan appeared before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Sources said that Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan appeared before the NCCIA at the Johar Town police station. Both cricketers were questioned by the NCCIA for two hours. The two cricketers were questioned regarding the alleged dressing room leaks during the England series.
According to sources, both players were also questioned about their contacts and meetings during practice sessions and matches in England.
Sources said that both players have sought more time to answer the questions.
NCCIA sources said that the mobile phones of both cricketers will be unlocked. An investigation will be conducted regarding the dressing room leaks during the series against England.
The cricket board had handed over the mobile phones of both players to the NCCIA. Earlier, it was reported that the Pakistan Cricket Board was conducting an investigation following media reports regarding the discipline and conduct of the cricket team’s players.
In this regard, the Pakistan Cricket Board has refrained from commenting. PCB sources said that since the inquiry is still underway, no comment will be made.
On the other hand, board sources also said that unverified and baseless reports regarding cricketers and officials are being circulated in the media.
