PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi strongly supported an increase in player payments during a Pakistan Super League governing council meeting.
Naqvi urged team owners to raise player salaries, saying the growth in team market value should now benefit the players as well.
He said he wants PSL players to receive better financial rewards and stressed that higher compensation would strengthen the league and motivate talent.
Naqvi also proposed introducing player auctions similar to franchise auctions. He suggested that teams should pick players through an auction system in the PSL 11 draft, allowing franchises to choose freely and helping players secure higher value.
He further emphasized giving equal opportunities to the two new teams when selecting players. Sources added that the working committee may debate player retention rules for existing teams in upcoming meetings.
The meeting, chaired by Mohsin Naqvi, was attended by eight franchises along with PCB and PSL officials. During the session, officials welcomed the owners of the two new teams and congratulated all stakeholders on the successful auction process.
