PM Shehbaz praises Iran’s leadership in phone call with President ahead of Islamabad talks

Web Desk: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif spoke by phone on Wednesday with Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a conversation lasting more than 45 minutes. During the discussion, Sharif expressed his deep appreciation for the Iranian leadership’s prudence in agreeing to a temporary ceasefire and accepting Islamabad as the venue for upcoming negotiations with the United States.

The Prime Minister also conveyed his respects to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the two countries in facilitating regional stability.

President Pezeshkian thanked Sharif for Pakistan’s diplomatic role and praised the efforts of the Pakistani leadership in helping secure a temporary truce between Washington and Tehran. He confirmed that Iran would participate in the forthcoming talks in Islamabad and extended his best wishes to the people of Pakistan.

Both leaders underscored the importance of maintaining close communication in the days ahead, signaling a continued collaborative effort to ensure the ceasefire holds and to advance diplomatic solutions in the region.
