Petrol price likely to increase in Pakistan

The petrol price in Pakistan is expected to rise. There is a possible increase of up to Rs4.79 per litre.

The proposed adjustments cover petrol, high-speed diesel, kerosene, and light diesel.

The petrol prices could go up by Rs1.54 per litre, high speed diesel by Rs4.79 per litre, kerosene oil by Rs3.06 per litre, and light diesel oil by Rs3.68 per litre.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is expected to send the final price calculations to the Petroleum Division soon.

Once approved, the Finance Ministry will issue an official notification to implement the revised petroleum prices across the country.

If approved, the revised rates will come into effect from midnight on September 16.

A sharp rise in diesel prices is expected to increase transportation costs, which could trigger a cascading effect on food and essential commodities, further straining family budgets.

The revised prices will mark yet another round of increases in fuel costs, adding to the economic woes of citizens already struggling with record-high living expenses,
