PCB issues revised schedule for upcoming ODIs between Pakistan and Sri Lanka

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced an updated schedule for the upcoming one-day international (ODIs) matches between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Mohsin Naqvi thanked the Sri Lankan team for not cancelling the tour. “The spirit of sportsmanship and solidarity shines bright,” he wrote.  

Mohsin Naqvi wrote in his tweet that the remaining ODI matches between the two teams will be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on November 14 and 16.

Earlier, the matches were scheduled to take place on November 13 and November 14 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Continuation of Pakistan tour after Islamabad blast:

The revised schedule comes after Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced the resumption of the ongoing Pakistan tour after a deadly blast in the G-11 area of Islamabad. In the blast outside the district and session court in Islamabad, 12 people lost their lives and 27 individuals sustained injuries.  

SLC’s policy for Players Wishing to Return Home:

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in its statement, if any player wanted to go home, he could. SLC also clarified that the player will be replaced to continue the ongoing series in Pakistan, adding that the official notices will be issued to players who will go home.

Safety Measures for Sri Lankan team:

The SLC reassured their player about safety, adding that the SLC body is closely in coordination with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on security issues. The board directed all players, support staff, and team management to remain in Pakistan and proceed with the tour as planned.

Pakistan Beat Sri Lanka:

Earlier, Pakistan beat Sri-Lanka by six runs in the first ODI match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
